ARTIST STATEMENT

My first, and most loved subject has always been the outdoors. Growing up in the Skagit Valley/San Juan Islands, I was always amazed at the beauty that surrounded me and strived to capture it in my own work. I began working with oil paint and selling my art at age 15, and eventually went on to study painting at the University of Washington. During my undergrad I continued to focus on working with oils and experimenting with creating and painting on curved canvas. My art portrays my experiences exploring the Pacific Northwest and the moments I shared with loved ones in these special spots. I hope that these pieces inspire in you the same love and respect I have for these wild places, and remind you of the memories you’ve created outdoors.
